Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Roll Like the Pros

Build elite strength, conditioning, confidence, and grappling technique by training in one of the most popular martial arts today.

You will be training under one of our five expert Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coaches:

  • Head Coach and black belt Alain Guerro Pozo
  • Black belt Sarah Merriner
  • Black belt Tommy Yip
  • Purple Belt Callum Hanman

Head Coach Alain Pozo is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Wilson Junior of the Carlson Gracie team. One of the first students of the renowned Zé Radiola academy during the late 1990s, Coach Alain travelled the world before settling in the town of Colchester, Essex. Here, he developed some of England’s most promising jiu-jitsu competitors, such as Taylor Pearlman, James Costa, and Janis Rietskins.

Sarah Merriner, on the other hand, spent five years training in traditional jiu-jitsu before switching to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. During this time, she was undefeated in sparring and ground fighting competitions, winning multiple national championships. She began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in June 2008, achieving her black belt in 2015. She currently competes in gi and no-gi events in both domestic and international tournaments.

Sarah has been teaching classes in London and Essex for over 10 years now and has proven her ability to develop absolute beginners into successful athletes.
