Muay Thai Training
Muay Thai training is the martial art of 8 limbs. Originating from Thailand, the fighting style is commonly known for its frequent use of elbows, knees, punches and kicks.
Our Muay Thai training classes will teach authentic Thai techniques, using punches, kicks, knees and elbows. You will learn offensive and defensive fighting techniques, including the importance of correct footwork and head movement.
OUR TRAINERS
We have 3 Muay Thai training coaches Leon Jason (head coach), Kyron Osborne and Jimi Animashaun. Leon has been competing for over 6 years and has fought on some of the UK’s biggest shows. Kyron is a product of the FCG team, having started out in boxing he switched to Muay Thai within weeks of the gym opening 4 years ago and like Leon has fought on some big events taking home Fight Of The Night on 2 occasions. Jimi has 5 years of fight experience, having competed in MMA and BJJ he has focused on Muay Thai training and provides very technical but energetic classes.
Muay Thai Training (Beginners/Intermediate)
This class is open to all level and will focus on some of the basic movements within Muay thai to some a bit more advanced. Most classes will involve you working in pairs, 1 with pads and the other with gloves, working through various combinations. Occasionally you may practice some of the techniques with shin pads, but no need to worry as this is fully controlled to help you understand positioning against your opponent. All classes provide a high intensity workout.
Muay Thai (Sparring)
For advanced individuals only and full protective gear is required. Sparring is still controlled, however it is also full contact, so provides an opportunity to put the techniques learned from classes into practice. Members of the fight team, or aspiring members will also attend and help out with this class.
